Limavady ASC win multiple local sports awards
26 Nov 2022
Tonights Limavady Sports Council awards saw LASC and its members receive numerous awards for their achievements over the past year. To add to the evening, the awards were presented by 2 time Olympian and 4 time Commonwealth swimmer, Andrew Bree. Andrew had even dropped into our local leisure centre earlier for a surprise 30min session poolside with some of our swimmers.
Firstly, and the one that perhaps means the most: “Club of the Year”. This is for each and every one of our swimmers, coaches, parents and committee members who put so much into the club.
Head coach Anton received the ‘Coach of the Year ‘ award for his amazing work within the PDS squad and the commitment he has given to the club and taking on the head coach role. A passionate coach that shows incredible dedication to the club.
Clyde was awarded ‘Admin of the Year’ for covering multiple support roles as we came out of COVID.
Jude Williams.. this incredible young man received the Brian Campbell Endeavour Award for his amazing feat in becoming the youngest Irish man to swim the ‘Hellespont’ open water race as well as his achievements in triathlon and cross country
And last but definitely not least, Dearbhaile Brady...our ‘wee’ superstar.. destined for big things.. we will hopefully be watching her take the big stage in Paris in 2024 knowing that she came from our ‘wee’ club. Dearbhaile received the disability award at tonights ceremony!
Congratulations to everyone involved and let’s continue working together to build on what we have already achieved!
