Sunday 6th November saw the end of 3 consecutive days of competition at the Ulster Short Course Championships, held in Belfast at Lisnasharragh Leisure Centre. 5 swimmers from Limavady ASC travelled each day to compete and came home yesterday evening having done themselves and LASC very proud.
Yna managed to final in every one of her 3 breaststroke events and Alec was reserve for his 50m breaststroke. As the Ulster SC finals are true open finals, open to all age groups, these are epic achievements from both swimmers. Alec competed in a further 6 events over the course of the meet.
Pablo, our new boys PDS Captain, had a busy schedule across all 3 days with 8 events in total and performed exceptionally well coming home with 4 PBs.
Joshua swam in 7 races, achieving a PB in 6 of them including his last event of the meet, a 200m Fly, after knocking over 9 seconds of his 400m IM PB less than 1 hour earlier.
And last, but not least, Alice, had 2 PBs out of 3 races and at only 13, has several years yet in that competition and will no doubt improve and start looking towards finals herself.
Well done to all of the Limavady Swimmers!
