We here already know we have an awesome team of coaches who give so much to our young athlete's week in and week out. Every one of them deserves an award for their contributions to the continuing success of Limavady ASC.

Special congratulations though to Maria, our Lead Swim Academy coach, who has been recognised in the Swim Ulster awards for 2021/22 season as Junior/Development Coach of the Year. Her award was presented at the War Memorial Gala held in Bangor's Aurora on Saturday 12th November.

Maria receives this award partly for her ongoing work with our youngest swimmers as they embark on their journey with LASC. As a new members first coaching experience in the club, Maria has a huge responsibility to develop not only the skills and stamina of our youngest swimmers, but also instilling a sense of fun and a love for the sport along the way.

In addition to this key responsibility, Maria also led the way in integrating young Elodie into club activities, often devoting additional personal time to developing those necessary swimming skills to allow her to progress through club ranks. In addition to now training as part of the Senior squad, Elodie has recently received her official disability sport classification for swimming which will open up further competition to her locally and nationally.

Congratulations again Maria and a huge thank you to all of our coaching team who always go above and beyond for every one of our members.
